Trough a repository unique company or organization repository design is possible to begin a knowledge capitalization process. This means having access to this information from any work station trough a corporate intranet or from the internet rather than having physically all the critical information in one place.

Due to the great potential of this concept this solution has a great security contingency and versatility so in this way thousands of employees, suppliers or customers can access the only official copy of a document or critical business information without mistakes and in a timely manner.

The electronic library solution provided by Puntocom S.A. uses the EDMS EMC – Documentum platform, which is in charge to grant broad functionalities and tools for the documental management.

Electronic library’s basic functionalities list:

Documentary base with Cardex/folders/documents logic, for easier usage by standard customers.

Documents are storage along with its cataloging “sheet”, which allows the data and /or the documents for business use.

The documents are displayed in its native formats (MS Office, CAD, PDF, HTML, etc) or by previously defined viewers.

Normal working tools integration (MS Office, CAD, Lotus Notes, Outlook, etc.)

There is no limitations in the supported formats.

Checkin – checkout function.

Automatic PDF format render or other defined one.

Potent search engine by document attributes.

Full text searches without restriction.

Cataloging sheet Easy definition and creation.

Each document lifecycle management: unique functionality that allows to predefine the life cycle of a document, thus, it will “work” for you.

Virtual document creation.

Multiple links to different Cardex or folders.

Document or locators sending from the documentary base.

Secure and versatile access permission logic based in ACL (Access Control List) with 7 permissive levels, this are:

A) NONE: the user doesn´t see the document.
B) BROWSE: the user only sees the document title.
C) RELATE: the user can only see and add notes to the document.
D) READ: the user can only read and print the document.
E) WRITE: the user can edit the document.
F) VERSION: the user can only add new versions of the document.
G) DELETE: the user can erase or delete a document.
