CARACAS, January, 15th - EMC - Documentum, the leader company in Content Management for e-business, has been selected by PDVSA as corporate platform for generating and managing of its documents and critical business processes. The operation costed 4.5 millions and included the acquisition of a 7000 Foundation licenses packages plus another similar amount of supplemental product licenses together with a complete consultancy program for the platform implementation and consultancy for specific project developments.

With this acquisition, EMC - Documentum incorporates a new global 2000 customer to its list fulfilling its mission of giving world class technology to promote the e-business in big companies. The EMC-Document robustness, reliability, security and scalability features will allow PDVSA to maintain all critical information coming from the different subsidiaries in South America, USA, Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

For the implementation and consultancy stages, EMC - Documentum has selected the Chilean consultancy company Puntocom S.A., a company specialized in Knowledge Management and Content Management foe e-Business with a wide exxperiencie in designing, developing and implementing solutions over the World Class platform. Puntocom S.A. has developed similar projects for PEMEX, Colombian Transport Ministry, Techint Argentina, Xerox, Telefónica de Chile, Minera Escondida and Antofagasta Minerals, among others.
