PEMEX contracts Puntocom S.A. services for the document management Project new stage

Mexico City, December 2001, between one of the biggest oil companies worldwide and the Chilean consultancy company “Puntocom S.A” an agreement has been signed for the document and process management project phase-2 implementation. This project was initiated on 1999 with the PEMEX’s Technology and Administration Department (CITAAD).

Phase 2 considers designing, developing and implementing on line processes for the creation, maintenance and publishing of the company’s rules and procedures via the corporate Intranet. Thus, it will be available an application capable of centralize thousands of documents before dispersed and difficult to administer which are vital for the correct operation of production and administration processes. In parallel, a solution will be developed to administer thousand of invoices coming from providers and users for their revision and payment approval.

The platform selected by PEMEX for developing these applications is EMC - Documentum 4i, a World Class product specialized in content administration for e-Business. The sound tools offered by EMC - Documentum in its eContent Server as Workflows, Virtual Document Management, WCM y EDMS abilities, give the security, robustness, reliability and scalability required by big companies.

The project will last 3 months and it will be developed from Chile using the online project control model via Internet for the results delivery and for the revision process and approvals required by the Company. Thus, Puntocom S.A. meet its commitment of giving consultancy services to big companies in Latin America for their knowledge management implementation.
