Title: Implementation of EMC-Documentum (6.5) Enterprise Content Management System, integrated with SAP, Máximo y Drawbridge
Problem: The company operates one of the largest natural gas plants in the world, belonging to Marathon Oil Company, Noble Energy Inc. and SONAGAS. It produces over 1.000.000 tons per year of methanol, equivalent to 3% of global production.
The system to be implemented in AMPCO responses to a “Knowledge administration” policy. It will allow AMPCO to manage all its documentation and business processes with the Documentum platform, integrated with SAP and IBM Maximo.
AMPCO operates in Equatorial Guinea and has offices in Houston, Texas. The solution required a design that would allow to grant access to documents in a timely manner in both places, avoiding the potential problems of connectivity between locations. Most of the documents are created in EG.
The objective of the project was to enable the cultural change from manage information on paper to an electronic format in a safe environment, allowing also the records management.
Additionally:
- Manage a large quantity of electronic information, distributed in personal computers, email boxes and shared drives for regulation compliance matters.
- Provide access to the information to all members of the company.
- Keep a centralized repository with and integrative vision, including features to capture, store, manage, distribute, secured access, disposition and retention of electronic records in order to face possible international disputes.
- Provide a world class platform to be used by the whole company.
Solution: The selected platform was EMC-Documentum 6.5 with a close integration with SAP, MAXIMO and Drawbridge. Also the Records Management solution was added.
Modules were selected for the administration of document processes (workflows), Records Management, SAP connector and format transformation for content management and publishing
Long term visión of the company is to have a corporate portal that integrates all the features of EMC Documentum and the systems (SAP, MAXIMO and others) of the company.
Resultados:As the result of this Project it was obtained a Documentum 6.5 platform was obtained, integrated with SAP and MAXIMO, to manage the critical business processes. At a first stage, a selection of the most sensitive processes took place, to define the processes to be implemented in the platform. The following processes were selected:
- Contract Administration
- Expatriate´s travel administration
- Accounts payable
- Records Management
- Drawbridge integration
Proyect Data: Deadline for implementation: 8 months
Total investment: US$ 850.000 considering consulting services, implementation and application development.
