SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION I FOR EMC - DOCUMENTUM 5

Este curso provee de un sólido conocimiento de las funciones administrativas fundamentales de la plataforma EMC - Documentum. Los participantes aprenderán a instalar, configurar y realizar tareas básicas de administración en el Content Server 5.3, mediante el uso de la interface Administrador de EMC - Documentum. Este curso está especialmente recomendado para los administradores del sistema y responsables de aplicaciones o proyectos desarrollados sobre EMC - Documentum. Manual del alumno en inglés.

Duración: 2 días (16 hrs.)

Requisitos del alumno:
Technical Fundamentals o equivalente.

Familiaridad con DQL

Logros esperados:
Actualizar el Content Server a version 5.

Instalar EMC - Documentum Administrador 5.

Practicar tareas administrativas usando EMC - Documentum Administrador.

Analizar cómo el Tomcat Application Server se integra con EMC - Documentum. 

Examinar una variedad de configuraciones de Server.

Configurar y administrar los indices Full Texto.

Configurar y administrar content storage areas.

Analizar funcionalidades de tracing and troubleshooting.

Analizar técnicas de backup y restore para un repositorio EMC - Documentum.

Overview of Content Server System Administration.
- Describe the basic functions of a repository administrator
- Explain the EMC - Documentum system architecture
- Differentiate between a repository, a Content Server and a connection broker
- Describe the function of a Connection Broker

Installation and Configuration of Content Server 5 and Other Components
- Install, upgrade and configure a repository and connection broker
- Start and Stop the Content Server for a repository
- Install EMC - Documentum Administrator

EMC - Documentum System Pre-Installation Tasks
- Identify disk space and memory requirements to support EMC - Documentum system installation
- Identify hardware and software requirements to install Content Server
- Identify index server requirements
- Differentiate between the installation owner and the repository owner
- Establish the necessary accounts for the Content Server
- Set up the database and services files required for Content Server installation

Users and Groups
- Review EMC - Documentum users and groups.
- Import users using an LDIF file.
- Create and use dynamic groups.

EMC - Documentum End-User Clients
- Desktop Client Installation
- Modify the dmcl.ini file to configure Desktop and thick-client settings
