By orders of Intesa, Puntocom S.A. designs and develops a management application for commerce documents..

Caracas, December 2001.- Puntocom S.A. has completed the design and development of a document management application involved in the PDVSA Oil and Derivates sales, mayor company in Venezuela and one of the biggest Oil Companies in the world. The project was hired by Intesa, an IT company that provides computing services, connectivity and systems to PDVSA. This application, supported in the EMC – Documentum platform, it is programmed to begin production during the last week of January 2002.

It is worth mentioning that during the first seven months of 2001 PDVSA, with Puntocom support, implanted the EMC – Documentum platform in a corporate level.

This project, in its phase I, contemplates the design and development of an electronic library to storage and publish all foreign commerce documents like contracts, sales invoices, BLs, laboratory analysis, price reports, correspondence, etc. the application has loading and automatic electronic and paper document indexation interfaces . The last ones are previously digitalized and indexed by batch mode through a high productivity software integrated to EMC – Documentum.

The application will be used by all the staff involved in Oil and Derivates sell and distribution, it will allow a significant increase in the company’s foreign commerce operation efficiency, redounding in higher incomes because of the anticipated Oil and Derivates sells invoice collecting.
